New suspect in court for Jayde's killing

Another suspect has been arrested in connection with Jayde Panayioutou’s kidnapping and murder.

Sinethemba Nenembe appeared briefly in the Port Elizabeth magistrate’s Court on Friday morning.

The state alleges that in April this year Nenembe assisted alleged hitman Sizwe Vumazonke to kidnap and kill Panayiotou on the instruction of her husband‚ Christopher.

Panayioutou was abducted outside her Kabega Park townhouse complex in Port Elizabeth at about 6.30am on April 21. Her body was found on a farm in Rocklands near Uitenhage the day after her abduction.

Police said in a statement on Friday that Vumazonke was in custody at the St Albans Correctional Facility‚ Port Elizabeth‚ in connection with the murder of a 72-year-old woman. Denise Webber was killed on August 20‚ also in Kabega Park.

Nenembe will appear in court again on December 2‚ along with his co-accused‚ including Panayioutou’s husband who is in custody.
