“Chumani Nqakula‚ the second of Cde Charles and Nosiviwe’s four children‚ met his sudden and untimely death following an assault in Johannesburg‚ Gauteng last night‚” the ANC confirmed in a statement.

Both the ANC and its tripartite partner the SACP expressed their condolences to the Nqakulu family.

“Our prayers and thought are with Chumani’s family and friends and as we send our deepest sympathies to them‚ we hope and believe that fond memories of their son and friend will bring comfort during this difficult time of loss‚” ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said.

In its statement‚ the SACP said: “The SACP commends the police for moving swiftly by arresting the suspected murderer who killed Chumani. Justice must be seen running its course in this murder case and other killings that are committed in our country.”
