It's all systems go for billionaire Patrice Motsepe’s “Christmas with our People” music concert at the East London beachfront this weekend.
The Motsepe Foundation said this year the party would be bigger and better, with first-time performers Nathi of Nomvula fame and DBN NYTS of Shumaya gracing the stage tomorrow. Other sought-after artists expected to entertain the crowd include singing sensation Zahara, Ricky Rick, Professor, DJ Big Nuz, Tira and Thebe.
The metro yesterday said it was ready to welcome thousands of party-goers to its beachfront tomorrow.
There will be a heavy police presence, as well as traffic officials to control access points and monitor the illegal consumption of alcohol. Nzimande said bottles were not allowed at the venue.
Last year the Spar was forced to shut just after 5pm, when the crowd became too big. An estimated crowd of around 1000 people were both inside the shop and in the car park when the business decided to close.
