Video feature to enhance news

Now that the Daily Dispatch has settled into its modern new Beacon Bay building, it is appropriate to offer readers high-tech features in keeping with the digital age and enhance the daily news experience.

By simply pointing your cellphone at selected images in the Dispatch, you can watch them come to life as videos.

Reports that lend themselves to being filmed will be produced into short videos by the online team so that readers can benefit from augmented reality. The first video to be offered by the Dispatch can be accessed through the picture next to his report.

Note that it is marked with a distinctive purple Aurasma logo.

To get the full benefit of your daily news fix, simply follow a few steps:

• First, download the Aurasma app for cellphones for iOS from the Apple Store or Android from the Play Store for free.
• Once installed, find the DailyDispatch account on Aurasma, follow and “like” it.
• Then, when you see the Aurasma logo on an image in a Dispatch newspaper page or DispatchLive website, open your Aurasma app and scan your phone over the image.

Enjoy the video while continuing to hold your phone in a fixed position above the image.
