Caley’s on top with Xhosa-factor

Mthatha-born entrepreneur Caley van der Kolk is one step closer to realising her showbiz dream as a television presenter.

The 25-year-old graduate has made it to the top 11 of SABC’s Presenter Search on 3.

She moved to East London where she attended Hudson Park High School, completing her schooling in 2007 before moving on to Cape Town to study at UCT.

She started with a BA degree in drama, English, media and writing, however, switched over to business science marketing and graduated top of her UCT honours class in 2012.

Since completing her studies, Van der Kolk has been involved in various jobs, trying to find her calling.

While chasing her dream on the presenter search this year, she recently launched a business venture with her cousin Claire Keet, called Sentiens printed yoga and active mats.

“We add a visual element to ordinary exercise mats and in doing so inspire and enhance your unique active expression,” explained Van der Kolk.

On her decision to enter the Presenter Search on 3, she admits the chance to engage with different people and explore the world at large drove her to go for it.

To follow her journey, you can catch videos and past episodes on YouTube, Presenter Search on 3 as well as on her personal YouTube channel.
