Two arrested on charges of dealing in drugs

A Mdantsane woman is facing drug-related charges after she was allegedly found in possession of 83 mandrax tablets and seven bompies of dagga in her NU2 home yesterday.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku said the woman, 38, was was arrested during an intelligence-driven raid by members of the East London K9 Unit at Tambo Square informal settlement.

Mzuku said shortly after the raid, police proceeded to another house in NU3, where they arrested a 21-year-old youth for being in possession of 12 bompies.

“The estimated street value of the drugs is R4200.

“Both suspects will appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of them,” Mzuku said.
