Butterworth dad searches for two missing sons

A distraught father is searching frantically for his two sons who went missing while travelling from Butterworth to Pretoria on Sunday.

Given Mahlangeni said Thabile Myendeki, 17, and Wanda Myendeki, 16, were travelling with a woman friend of his when they went missing during a stop at an Engen filling station on the N1 outside Bloemfontein.

“The two were travelling with my friend from Butterworth to Pretoria. They stopped at this filling station to refresh and they were never seen again.

“Their phones were called but they were off. We just don’t know what happened to them,” said Mahlangeni.

He said a search that lasted for almost two hours was conducted around the garage and along the N1 but the two could not be found.

“Until now their cellphones are off. We call for any person who has seen them along the road to contact us or the police immediately,” said Mahlangeni.

Anyone with information about the missing teens is asked to contact Constable Motloung at the Bainsvlei Police Station on (051)409-6003/6020/6008.

East London police are still searching for a 22-year-old Amalinda woman who disappeared last Tuesday.

The man later told the family they had not met for lunch, and that they were not in a romantic relationship.

Dyani’s older sister Nolonwabo Cengani yesterday they had not heard from her.

“We are still appealing to people to assist us,” she said.

Cengani can be contacted at 073-234-7015.
