National Assembly speaker Baleka Mbete will receive the Martin Luther King Legacy Award for International Service on Sunday.
"This prestigious award signifies her great leadership on various leadership roles in South Africa and beyond. We are indeed grateful to the international community for recognising and affirming women leadership with an award of this magnitude," the African National Congress Women's League said in a statement on Friday.
She will receive the award in Washington. This year marks the twenty five year anniversary of the International Salute of the Life and Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
