Trevor Gumbi crash-landed on our small screens last Saturday night as the host of SABC1’s Friends Like These.
The unannounced arrival raised eyebrows and some rejected it.
For some 13 seasons the Saturday 6.30pm slot on the channel was DJ Sbu’s territory as the host of the popular game show. And the bond he shared with the audience cannot be underestimated.
Now, after more than 10 years, Sbu has left the show to make way for the man respected for his stand-up comedy and acting.
The show pits five women against five men in a battle of the sexes. The winning group goes on a holiday cruise.
