New home needed for disabled woman

Chalumna community leaders have appealed for help for a disabled woman, whose mud house collapsed due to heavy rains last April.

The 59-year-old Lindiwe Kutshwayo of Ncera Village 5 in Mpintsho currently stays in a zinc shack with her three-year-old grandchild.

“We need active leaders who can assist these people. We have many cases that are similar to this of Kutshwayo. We call for people to come and help this woman. Let’s build her a shelter that she can call home,” she said.

Another community leader, Steve Mbaliso from Sandile location, said besides houses for people, the state of roads was bad in all the villages.

“Help develop these villages. That’s what we are calling for. We are not politicising this, but help is needed for our people,” said Mbaliso. — bonganif@dispatch.co.za
