The man who escaped from Middledrift Correctional Centre has been arrested by the Mdantsane police.
Mzwandile Mpukwana, 44, was found at his home in NU 1 Mdantsane at about 11pm last night.
He was due to be released in September. He was convicted of burglary and theft in 2010 and was serving a seven-year sentence when he escaped from the Middledrift Correction Services on Thursday .
Constable Siphenkosi Jwambi confirmed this morning that the suspect has been rearrested and is currently in police custody.
