A 27-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged murder of his 59-year-old mother who had been admitted to a hospital in East London.
According to police‚ the suspect allegedly visited his mother in her hospital ward on Sunday afternoon.
“The nurses are alleged to have discovered the lifeless body of the woman lying on her bed with stab wounds to the throat and stomach‚” police spokesperson Captain Mluleki Mbi said.
The suspect was found hidden inside the hospital toilet with a knife in his possession.
He will appear before the East London Magistrate’s Court soon facing a charge of murder.
