Two arrested following EL burglary

Two suspects were arrested following a burglary in Berea, East London yesterday.

According to police, the suspects, 22 and 29 years old, were arrested by SAPS Cambridge members who are tasked to monitor a series of burglary cases in this area.

The suspects were found in possession of DVD players, power tools, jewellery and clothing. They were still wearing the shoes of the complainant.

The Cambridge station commander Brigadier Nomso Siganga said she was happy about this achievement and praised her staff.

“Burglary cases are a priority in my area.

Any arrest is a huge achievement as this will instill confidence in our communities we serve,” Siganga said.

They will appear before the East London Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 11 April 2016.
