Former Miss South Africa and businesswoman Jo-Ann Strauss and her husband‚ Michael Held‚ welcomed a baby girl into the world on Thursday.
Strauss announced the arrival of the couple’s daughter late on Thursday evening in a short message posted to her personal blog‚ ModernMommy.co.za.
In the post‚ entitled “She is here :-)”‚ Strauss wrote: “After 40 weeks of waiting‚ we finally got to meet our new little princess today! Weighing in at 3.7 kgs and a runway-esque 53 cm‚ she’s a cutie pie that has taken our breaths away with her first breaths.”
Although Strauss has not revealed the name of her newborn‚ she has thanked fans and friends for their support and kind wishes.
The baby girl is the couple’s second child together‚ following the birth of their son in April 2014.
Strauss‚ who has always been shy to talk about her private life‚ sparked excitement last November when she announced that she was pregnant with her second child. But fans and friends had to wait until her baby shower last month to finally learn that the new arrival would be a girl.
