South Africa-born Hollywood actress Charlize Theron is reported to have been cast as a villain in the upcoming The Fast and the Furious film‚ Fast 8.
According to Variety‚ Theron has officially joined the cast of the upcoming film‚ which is set for release in April next year.
Sources told the site that Universal Studios had approached Theron early on in the casting process‚ but she was hesitant to commit to the film until a final draft of the script was complete.
Theron is set to star alongside Hollywood actors Vin Diesel‚ Dwayne Johnson‚ Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez‚ who are all reprising roles in the film.
It is also rumoured that Theron may have at least one evil partner in Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju‚ who has also been linked to the project in the last few days.
Theron is no stranger to playing the villain‚ starring in several films where she has played the antagonist with distinction.
The Madmax: Fury Road star recently opened up to British GQ magazine about the plight of being a perfect 10 in Hollywood‚ suggesting that all the good roles in Hollywood go to girls who are not necessarily the prettiest.
“Jobs with real gravitas go to people that are physically right for them and that’s the end of the story. How many roles are out there for the gorgeous‚ f***ing‚ gown-wearing eight-foot model? When meaty roles come through‚ I’ve been in the room and pretty people get turned away first‚” she said.
