Mi Casa take a break and go exploring

Triple platinum-selling house trio Mi Casa took a break from their music careers for a two-day getaway exploring East London and parts of the Jikeleza Route.

The aim of the My 1st Sho’t Left Tour with Mi Casa, who were accompanied by journalists and media personalities, is to explore some of the country’s hidden gems.

The group explored East London and its surrounding areas earlier this week and soaked up what the city had to offer in all its cultural, artistic, culinary and natural glory.

Mi Casa lead singer João “J’Something” Fonseca said the initiative was a way to encourage 90% local travel.

“Through this project, we aim to show people that you can have fun and experience great adventure in the Eastern Cape. We have so many people wanting to travel the world but we have to start ‘holidaying’ in our own country and that is what this is about.”

He said Sho’t Left was a national campaign that would make its way to all nine provinces, showing the best each had to offer.

Fonseca said that it was also important to remember that tourism played an important role in putting food in people’s mouths.

Day one of the East London tour was packed with adventure activities while day two was more about interacting with the people of East London and surrounding areas.

The group explore the Western Cape next.
