ANC members too late for registration at IEC

Four ANC members that were registering as Independent candidates have been kicked out of the IEC offices by police after IEC officials told them that 5pm was the deadline for all applications.

All members had already paid the banks for their application and now they are not sure how they will get refunded. Mandisa Nase of ward 39 says: "I had already paid and I have my proof of payment. I also had already done my forms but the IEC officials told us they do not work after 5pm so they called police on us."

Members of the Pan Africanist Congress were also kicked out.
