ANC supporters start to fill up FNB stadium for manifesto launch

Thousands of ANC supporters have started filling the FNB Stadium in Soweto ahead of the Gauteng provincial manifesto launch for the coming local government elections.

Over 1‚000 buses are ferrying people from across the province with a mission to fill up the 94‚000-seater stadium.

The Gauteng ANC leadership chose the country’s biggest venue in order to demonstrate the party’s dominance in the province. This is in response to a poor attendance at the party’s recent national manifesto launch in the Eastern Cape.

Furthermore‚ the Economic Freedom Fighters recently stole the limelight when it filled the Orlando Stadium to its rafters.

As supporters file into the stadium‚ the crowd is being entertained by music from Chomee and her dancers.
