Standard Bank system changes will render services unavailable on Sunday

Standard Bank customers will not be able to make ATM deposits and the institution’s “banking app‚ internet‚ telephone and cellphone banking” services will be unavailable on Sunday.

This‚ it said on Friday‚ will be due to “scheduled system changes…from 2am to 8pm”.

“You will still be able to withdraw cash at ATMs and use your Standard Bank debit‚ cheque or credit cards to make in-store purchases‚” a statement said.

“You will also be able to use other services such as SnapScan and MasterPassTM.”

There “will be limited services at Standard Bank branches and the AlwaysOn banking channel via WeChat”.

Standard issued the following advice to customers:

- Make payments or do banking transactions via our banking app‚ internet and cellphone banking before Sunday;

- Transfer any required money to relevant accounts in advance;

- Top up airtime and electricity before the weekend; and

- Although cards to make in-store purchases‚ it is worthwhile to consider having cash on hand.
