Didiza officially named as ANC’s Tshwane mayoral hopeful

Thoko Didiza has been officially announced as the African National Congress’ (ANC) Tshwane mayoral candidate.

Deputy secretary-general of the ANC Jessie Duarte made the announcement in Luthuli House on Monday.

Duarte thanked current mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa for the work he had done in the country’s capital.

The ANC announced its mayoral candidates for the country’s metros over the weekend with the exception of Tshwane as it sorted out internal issues.

One person was shot over the weekend in an alleged factional dispute within the party during the announcement of candidates.

Didiza is former minister of agriculture and land affairs and Duarte told reporters that she had all the required experience to lead the country’s capital. — Tiso Black Star Group Digital
