AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo’s sisters believes that she is lucky to be alive after her car was shot at three times as she was entering her home in Mthatha.

Phathiswa Sidiki, 35, a Mthatha businesswoman, popularly known by her clan name MaDlomo, escaped unhurt but was left traumatised after the shooting on Friday night.

Sidiki believes that the shooting was an attempted hit after a gunman fired three shots into her Mercedes-Benz C200 as she entered her home in Viedgesville about 20km from Mthatha along the N2 towards Dutywa.

Not a single bullet hit her.

''I do not know how did I survive the shooting, that was miraculously and was God's mercy. The guy was standing next to my window, less that a metre away when he fired the shots,'' said Sidiki, the mother of four.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela yesterday confirmed that shooting.

''We have opened a case of attempted murder. We call upon the members of the public to assist us tracking down the gunman,'' said Fatyela.

A case of attempted murder has been opened with police.

'' He was sure that he had killed me, but did not know that God shielded me '' she said

Sidiki, frequently ask herself how the three shots fired from the driver's door and exited on the passenger seat, missed her.

Sidiki is involved in construction industry and cleaning services having jobs in the Eastern Cape and in KwaZulu-Natal and she had no enemies.
