African National Congress secretary general Gwede Mantashe on Monday said that ANC national executive committee had called on the SABC board to review the decision to appoint Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
The ANC NEC also agreed on the need for a Parliamentary inquiry into the SABC Board’s fitness to hold office‚ he told a press briefing.
Motsoeneng’s appointment as group executive of corporate affairs‚ when his previous appoint as COO was ruled invalid‚ has been highly controversial.
The annual report released by the public broadcaster late last week has revealed that Motsoeneng had received a massive salary hike‚ taking his annual package from R3.8 million to R4.2 million in the past financial year.
