Gordhan to be charged again - report

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan is expected to be charged again next month‚ City Press reported on Sunday.

It said that this time ‚ a determined Hawks and National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) team want to make sure they have a strong case against him and his co-accused.

The new charges would relate to the establishment of the so-called rogue unit in 2007 during Gordhan’s tenure as commissioner of the South African Revenue Service (SARS)‚ the newspaper reported

National Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams announced last Monday that he had decided not to proceed with fraud charges against Gordhan and two other former SARS officials‚ Oupa Magashula and Ivan Pillay.
