A petrol tanker burst into flames and was completely destroyed when it caught fire after angry Ducats North residents ran riot and burnt tyres on the N6 on Monday evening.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Hazel Mqala said the incident took place at 10.30 pm.
Mqala said firefighters, police and rural safety patrollers responded to the incident and found the truck's trailer already engulfed in flames.
Mqala said no one has been arrested at the moment as residents fled the scene soon after police arrived. Bongo can add more for print.
