The construction of a traffic circle at the intersection of Beaconhurst Drive and Swift Crescent is under way. The work forms part of phase 2 of the R70-million Beacon Bay and Gonubie link road.
Despite only four workers on site when the Daily Dispatch visited on March 14, the contractor said the project was on track.
“Everything is running smoothly, we are almost there. We still have one more year to go for the project,” said site manager Victor Geldenhuys, referring to the entire project linking the two East London suburbs. The link road is expected to be completed by February next year.
