Well-known fitness coach Singwa Silinga is hosting a fitness family fun day this Saturday at the Beaconhurst Strawberry Field in Beacon Bay, East London.
Silinga, founder of Hercules Bootcamp, said the fitness family day was a concept that came up after a successful small event he held last year.
“A friend of mine, Neliswa Fenene, instilled the belief that I could do the same thing on a bigger scale,” Silinga said. “I decided right there and then to take the challenge on.”
Silinga has worked for a number of gyms around East London and runs his own Hercules Bootcamp.
He also has a radio show on Keith Ngesi Radio.
“The HB Fitness Fun Day is all about bringing families closer together in fitness and in health.
“Kids love seeing their parents being physically active and they love having fun,” he said, adding that they were creating family memories by hosting this event.
“People can expect gym classes such as power kick-boxing, dance aerobics, a Hercules circuit and cardio dance classes.
“There will be health evaluations conducted on the day,” he added.
There will also be stalls set up by East London businesses.
“We have gathered some talented local artists and entertainers to give the crowd a ‘wow’ experience.
“Acts include hip hop group Inkonsistent Klan and Lex and Guap from Rare Breed Studios, and there will also be a number of local DJs including DJ Zwesta SA, DJ Faku On The Decks and DJ LT.
With the SB Group and Hollard backing him, Silinga aims to hold the event annually.
“We are promoting self awareness and want the public to know that you can have fun while you get fit.
“Life is precious. We’re all living on borrowed time and we should make sure we live it well and get ‘herculised’.”
Tickets for adults cost R150 and for children over the age of five, R100.
