The Dale High School boys implicated in the cellphone footage showing them squashing another pupil into a refuse metal drum during school break, are expected to attend a formal hearing at the school regarding the incident
The 10-second video has been widely shared on social media shows five boys pushing and pinning down a pupil and stuffing him in to a drum, head first.
The boy can be heard screaming as he tries to resist. Chuckles could be heard in the background.
According the principal, Mike Eddy, the incident happened last term during the March exams and was brought to his attention earlier this week. Eddy said the school viewed this matter as very serious and have since called in the parents of both the victim and the boys implicated in the video.
"There will be a formal hearing next week, where the school governing body is expected to attend," said Eddy.
