ANC leader accused of assaulting taxi driver

Police are investigating a case of assault after a taxi driver accused Eastern Cape ANC heavyweight and soccer boss Xolile Nkompela of slapping him twice.

The alleged incident happened in Tsolo last week Thursday.

Nkompela, who is the O R Tambo ANC regional chairman, O R Tambo district municipality council speaker and SA Football Association (Safa) deputy president, is accused of slapping 27-year-old taxi driver Zubenathi Dazana.
