A VIOLENT service delivery protest erupted yesterday in the East Bank informal settlement when residents barricaded the Mdantsane Access Road with burning tyres, branches and rubbish.
When Daily Dispatch reporters arrived at on the scene there was a heavy police presence, including a helicopter hovering above the area keeping a watchful eye on proceedings.
The protestors were quickly dispersed with rubber bullets.
