Eskom and e-Tolls - Ramaphosa to give answers tomorrow

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will appear before Parliament tomorrow to field questions from MPs hoping for answers to some of the tough assisgnments he has been handed.

His office said questions on the order paper include what interventions he has taken to improve the struggling state entities Eskom‚ the South African Post Office and South African Airways.

Ramaphosa has also been asked to provide information on how his new dispensation for the e-toll system will be financially viable — both for road agency Sanral and ordinary motorists.

Jobs — one of the biggest concerns in the country — will come up when Ramaphosa is asked: "Whether in his capacity as chairperson of the Human Resource Development Council of South Africa‚ he has measures in place to ensure that Adult Education and Training is prioritised and fast-tracked for people who are currently employed in the formal and informal sectors and who have never had the opportunity of an education?"
