Professional merit-based bureaucracy way overdue

With reference to both the lamentable “Mantashe’s plea for church” (SD, December 6) and the awakening “Thugs stole ANC, says Hani” (DD, April 11, 2012), the common issues of serious concern are the widespread corruption and greed which the ANC, as the governing party, has appeared to be unable to disentangle itself from or to hold it within reasonable bounds.
