President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday convened the inaugural Presidential Youth Working Group meeting at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse in Pretoria.
The meeting is intended to discuss the National Youth Policy and various issues related to the socio-economic development and empowerment of the youth in the country.
Other issues that are expected to be addressed at the meeting include: economic participation and transformation; education‚ skills and second chances; healthcare and combating substance‚ amongst others.
The meeting will bring together government and youth formations to enable the youth to play a part in shaping policy and governance at the highest level.
Youth delegates present on Tuesday represented various sectors‚ such as professional associations‚ business‚ education and skills development‚ and organisations working in the realm of social development.
