Talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey attended her South African school’s valedictory ceremony at the weekend‚ marking the fifth graduating class from the Academy.

During her keynote address‚ she told the graduates: “There is nothing in life you cannot get through – not a circumstance or situation. You have the strength and resilience to endure and overcome. When failure shows up in your life‚ show yourself to be the captain of your fate and soul”.

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG)‚ situated in the picturesque village of Henley-on-Klip south of Johannesburg‚ said in a statement that various awards were handed out to top achievers in its class of 2015.

Among these was the prestigious Top Academic Achiever of 2015‚ which was awarded to Amanda Menzele.

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Award – a recognition that exemplifies leadership‚ caring‚ and generosity of spirit – was awarded to Moipone Tsoane.
