Work in progress for Just -4-U showpiece

Early evening soccer sessions should be on the cards after a busy work day as corporate sides gear up for the fast-approaching annual Vodacom Just-4-U Soccer Challenge sponsored by the cellphone firm and the Daily Dispatch.

This is the third annual edition of the popular challenge, which seems to draw more and more teams every year.

Last year 38 teams turned out to join the fun despite the chilly weather and even more teams are expected this year.

Donald FC and the East London IDZ Streamliners were the main winners last year as they triumphed in both divisions – senior (here for the football) and social (here for

the fun).

According to the competition’s rules, 10-player squads can be made up of men and women and rolling substitutions are permitted, so that even the less fit can get in some game time.

Some enticing prizes are up for grabs – the senior category winning team walks off with R6000 cash, while for the winners of the Social Category there are Puma products worth R7 000. Medals will be handed out to winners in both categories as well.
