Chippa desperate for win in EL today

Chippa United will be desperate for a win when they take on Cape Town City in a PSL clash at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in NU2 tomorrow.

Chippa United has had a difficult time since the departure and the fallout with former coach Dan 'Dance' Malesela as they have had four draws since Teboho Moloi has been at the helm.

Unlike City who were the runners-up in the MTN 8 clash that was won by SuperSport United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

City put up a fight and they went on to lose after a penalty shoot-out after battling it out with Eric Tinkler's charges. The game went into extra time with both sides failing score.

Responding to the Chilli Boys winless run, Moloi said he was not under pressure in filling Dans Malisela's shoes.

“I don't feel any pressure regardless of the results we've been having because I'm an ambitious person and I want to see Chippa doing well.

“I want to see us grow more stronger and exploring new avenues like going to the Nedbank Cup and into Africa.”

He said he would be happy if he could set a platform for the next person at the helm of the Chill Boys and he aimed to put his team in a good spot on the log.

“We should always remain in the top four, we should always win one of two trophies per season and we should compete in the African Champions League, he said.

Benni McCarthy has a formidable side that has showed hunger and skill to win games but it seems in previous matches they were only lacking experience in top flight football.

Veteran Teko Modise was instrumental in feeding the likes of Lehlohonolo Majoro the ball and all the younger players in his side.

City has a pool of talent with the likes of shot-stopper Shu-Aib Walters, Thabo Nodada, Ebrahim Seedat and Robyn Johannes which Chippa United might want look out for.
