Protesters block off N6 near Stutt

Hundreds of Amahlathi employees have blocked the roads into Stutterheim demanding that workers doing the same jobs be on the same level.MThe protest led by Samwu and Imatu, was over by midday following assurances by council speaker Nobhotwe Magwaxaza that a council meeting would sit tomorrow to resolve on the matter.

Amahlathi Samwu leader Rentile Mbi said a committee had been formed to investigate the discrepancies and resolved together with the troika that council sit to rubber-stamp the decision to standardise salaries. -- Msindisi Fengu
