Two children died and 14 were injured, five of them seriously in a horror smash on the R72 near Kidds Beach at
2pm this afternoon.Traffic authorities said the driver of a small sedan, which turned in front of a Grens High minibus ferrying cricket players.
Three schoolchildren with serious injuries were airlifted to hospital and 11 were rushed there by ambulance.
Charles Bramwell, deputy director of traffic in the Eastern Cape, said from the scene that the sedan coming from East London turned right to take a road to King William’s Town and crashed head-n into the school mini bus.
He said the minibus veered off the road and hit a tree, killing a schoolboy boy on impact.
Bramwell said the child in the sedan, who was believed to be under the age of five, died on impact.
