The seven Reeston men standing accused of kidnapping and later killing two youths from their area who had been suspected of a house-breaking in March, were today denied bail by the East London bail court magistrate Joel Cesar.

The seven men, Lungisa Kula, 34, Luvo Mpongwana, 33, Sakhumzi Jiya, 41, Khayalethu Mngcongco, 31, and Thanduxolo Mbebe, 37, Thozamile Tafane, 45, and Thobela Robeni, 24, are facing two counts of muder, two of kidnapping and one count of defeating the ends of justice which came about after they had concealed the two dead bodies by throwing them down a 400m cliff near Butterworth, about 116km from where the kidnapping and assault took place.

They are accused of murdering 18-year-old Lihle Sokutu and his 20-year-old friend, Londoloza Ntlombeni between March 7 and 8 and were all arrested on April 22 after some of them had confessed and led police to where the bodies were dumped.
