Ntsiki Mazwai helps renovate Soweto school library

Many of the learners had never heard of Ntsiki Mazwai or even knew what she looked like when she walked into the office at Nkholi Primary School in Pimville‚ Soweto recently and offered to help them transform their library.
The library‚ housed in a container donated six years ago was looking a little worse for wear and Ntsiki offered to help them rejuvenate it.
“She just walked into the school and asked if she could help with the library. We hadn’t met her before that but she said that she wanted to uplift the community and empower the next generation‚” the school’s principle Esther Moloto told TshisaLIVE.
Ntsiki made a R5‚000 donation‚ which was used to give the library a new lick of paint‚ flowers and a few more odds and ends.
“The children love it. It has livened up the place and now the kids run to sit near the library during break. Unfortunately‚ the donation didn’t cover new books but we are really grateful for everything she has done for the school‚” Esther added.
Ntsiki shared a picture of a thank you note the school had sent her but shrugged off the deed when TshisaLIVE called her for comment.
“In African culture we do not give and shout it out loud. I think my tweet was just capturing a moment of happiness from giving where I could‚” she said.
Ntsiki has previously appealed to her fans to help her collect books for children’s libraries across the country...
