The deaths reported on Wednesday and Thursday, came hardly a week after the provincial launchof the 2018 winter season traditional initiation.
Cooperative governance and traditional affairs (Cogta) provincial spokesman Mamnkeli Ngam and OR Tambo district traditional initiation forum chairman Nkosi Mkhanyiseli Dudumayo two of the dead initiates were 15-years old and the other was 22. They died in villages around Libode in the Nyandeni municipal area.
No arrests have yet been made.
In other incidents, three bogus traditional surgeons aged between 18 and 27 , have been arrested in East London, Tsolo and Port St Johns for illegal circumcision of boys, some younger than . -- lulamilef@dispatch.co.za
