Mount Coke daycare centre revamp

The Mzwakhe Day Care Centre in Mount Coke received an early Christmas gift on Wednesday when members of the Bisho SAPS Training Academy painted and cleaned the centre.
Event organiser Colonel Joslen Exford said that by working on the centre they hoped to raise awareness of women and children abuse.
“Even though we are a training academy we are part of the community. We have chosen this community organisation in order to impact on the children. If we strengthen Mzwakhe Day Care Centre we are providing an alternative and safe environment for children. We have also chosen this school in order to share a message with this community that abusing women and children is not accepted in our country.”
Local business, BUCO Hardware, donated paints and other hardware materials to help with the revamp.
Chairperson of board of trustees at the centre Mbuzeli Yiba said they were in need of further assistance. "This daycare is a non-profit organisation with three staff members – namely a teacher, cleaner and cook. They get a stipend once every three months. We would like to be adopted because, as a community school, we have nothing.”..
