Some survivors of the March 2 crash, some still walking with crutches, were among the mourners and were overwhelmed by the occasion.
The roll call of their names and the singing of hymns added to the sombreness of the occasion. Social workers were on hand to console distraught family members.

The victims were aged between the ages of three and 88.
Premier Oscar Mabuyane and his predecessor, Phumulo Masualle were among the mourners present. Transport minister Fikile Mbalula also attended the funeral.
