A Beacon Bay couple were left traumatised after they were allegedly tied up by criminals who ransacked their home early on Thursday morning, leaving with their silver Ford Ecosport loaded with the victims’ belongings.

The vehicle was later recovered by the police in Gonubie.

The homeowner was attacked when he left the house at about 4.30am for his routine cycling exercise.

In a video seen by the Dispatch, the wife asks:  “Please be on the lookout for my car.

“There’s been an armed robbery at our house. They’ve taken everything.

“They tied us up at gunpoint and they’ve stolen my car.”

[They] pulled a gun, pushed him to the ground and then marched him to the front door, which they forced him to open

A resident who is close to the family and can’t be named said as the husband opened the gate to leave, the criminals had pounced on him, forcing him inside at gunpoint.

“[They] pulled a gun, pushed him to the ground and then marched him to the front door, which they forced him to open.

“They took their time once in the house, leaving more than an hour after entering and packing whatever they could into the victim's car.”

This is a developing story.
