Introducing Azile Rhwalumbana

AZILE Rhwalumbana’s body was dumped at his stepmother’s front door after he was said to have died while attending an initiation school in Flagstaff.

Not wanting to be left behind by his friends, the 17-year-old Rhwalumbana ran off to circumcision school without his parents’ consent only to die there after allegedly being assaulted.

He takes with him his dreams of working to support his poverty-stricken family.

Rhwalumbana’s stepmother, Nokubonga Mangena, 28, spoke to the Daily Dispatch after she found him lifeless.

“When I opened the door I tripped over the body, which had been wrapped in a blanket not quite covering his feet.

“I screamed for my neighbours, who rushed over and identified the body as that of Azile. I don’t know who dumped the body but it was cruel,” she said.

He was a Grade 7 pupil at Bhukuveni Junior Secondary School.  — lulamilef@dispatch.co.za
