Mdantsane police are still looking for the mother of an abandoned newborn baby who was found dumped in Cecilia Makiwane Hospital last month.
The little girl was dumped shortly after she was born on September 9.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku says they believe the mother is 22 years old and possibly a Mdantsane resident.
He said the baby was still alive and well-looked after in the hospital.
He said members of the police’s family violence and child protection unit were investigating a case of child abandonment.
He said anyone with information about the child’s mother can contact the investigating officer Sergeant Sizeka Mangesi on 071-352-4720 or crime stop on 08600 10111.
