Royals unite as chief laid to rest

Thembu royals put aside their battles on Saturday as they took one of their elders, Chief Daludumo Lindikhaya Mtirara, to his final resting place in Xhongorha Village outside Mthatha.

Mtirara shocked the entire nation a few weeks ago when he allegedly committed suicide in Pretoria where he worked as a senior official in the South African Air Force.

He was one of the Dlomo family members who supported jailed king Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo’s brother Prince Mthandeni Mankunku Dalindyebo to take over as acting king.
