Former Eastern Cape Premier's mother has died

The mother of former Eastern Cape Premier Makhenkesi Stofile has passed on.

Miriam Stofile died on Wednesday morning at her home in Ngqele village near Alice.

Eastern Cape ANC spokesman Gift Ngqodi confirmed  her passing. She described  MaStofile as a “mother to many” as she shielded so many comrades under apartheid. MaStofile is also the mother of the late former South African Rugby Union boss, Mike Stofile.

“Phumla (rest)  Thangana, Krila,Mbamba,” said Ngqodi.
