Computers stolen from school for deaf

Pupils and teachers at the Carel du Toit Centre for the deaf have been forced to sit around and do nothing after computers containing teaching software and programming for cochlear implants were stolen over the weekend.
A Cape Town audiologist who was flown in by the school this morning could not work today with the children, said principal Paula Kumn.
Kumn said this was a second break-in in two weeks after roof tiling and roof flushing were ripped off and stolen.
Kumn said the stolen equipment is valued at R27 000. She added that parents at the school had just raised money to replace material equipment stolen in the first incident.
“We are an NGO with no money. They are stealing from poor people. We will struggle to replace the equipment.”..
