Komani police spokesperson captain Namhla Mdleleni said the incident happened in Lower Didimala village near Komani between 8am and 9am on Monday.

She said the police are appealing to the community for assistance in tracking down the suspects who shot the two women, killing one and seriously wounding the other.
“It is alleged that two armed unknown men entered in two homesteads in Lower Didimala on Monday morning. They first approached one house where they shot a 55-year-old woman and thereafter they proceeded to the second house and asked for the victim from a relative,” she said.
Mdleleni said when the elderly woman appeared they shot her and she died on the scene.
“The suspects then fled the scene. The first victim was taken to hospital and the motive of the heinous attacks are unknown and will be investigated,” Mdleleni said.
She appealed to anyone who can assist the police in the investigation to please contact warrant officer Richard Fredericks at 082-441-8232 or crime stop line on 086-001-0111...
