Two men aged 22 and 29 have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 74-year-old man in Fort Malan village.
The motive for the murder is still unknown. Police said the arrests were made on Thursday after the deceased was found dead on Thursday morning by his family and neighbours.
He was last seen alive on Wednesday evening when he went to sleep.
Police spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said the deceased did not have visible injuries and police believed he was strangled to death.
“The murder case was reported to Willowvale police who acted swiftly with the assistance of the community. The two suspects were arrested and will be charged with murder. Both suspects are also from the same village.”
The identity of the deceased is still being withheld while his relatives are notified about his death.
